Type of tests available?

2-in-1 Rapid Flu/COVID Test

Rapid Antigen Tests

We will perform the Sofia SARS Antigen FIA test, a type of rapid antigen test that offers quick, same-day results. This test is administered by swabbing your nose for a fluid sample to determine if the sample contains proteins found on the surface of the coronavirus. We recommend this test if you are currently experiencing symptoms consistent with those of COVID-19, such as cough, fever, breathing issues, sore throat, gastrointestinal distress, body aches, fatigue, headache, or recent loss of taste/smell. Results of this test are most accurate when the test is administered within 1-5 days after symptom onset.

Viral PCR Tests

This nasal swab test looks for evidence of an active viral infection. A PCR test is a good choice if you’ve been exposed to COVID-19, but do not currently have symptoms. It is also the recommended COVID-19 test for travel, school, or return-to-work purposes. The swab PCR test detects genetic material of the virus. Please understand that PCR fluid samples are sent out to a lab, and turnaround times for your results may vary.
Rapid Molecular PCR Tests
Accuracy of a lab, performed here at ODUC in minutes! Get the Abbott ID NOW COVID-19 rapid test today for results in as little as 20 minutes. This Molecular NAAT test checks for a current covid infection by detecting COVID-19 RNA/Nucleic Acids. It is accepted by most airlines for travel, can be used as clearance to return to work, or to detect the virus in patients with exposure or symptoms. Plus, there’s no need for additional testing – we can test for flu, Strep, RSV at the same time.
Saliva PCR test for Kids
Saliva tests are more comfortable than nasal swabs and just as accurate. The saliva test looks for evidence of an active viral infection by detecting genetic material of the virus. You will spit several times into a tube and then screw on the cap to complete the test. Due to limited quantities, we are generally reserving saliva tests for children returning to school or in need of a COVID-19 test. Results available within a few days.
SARS-CoV-2 Antibody Tests
The FaStep COVID-19 IgG/IgM (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) Rapid Test is a finger prick test that is able to detect COVID antibodies in just 15 minutes. This test has >99% and >97% accuracy for COVID IgM and IgG antibody detection. The rapid antibody test is available as a cash-pay service for $100, with a provider visit include. Or, use insurance and see a Physician.

COVID-19 FAQ

What is COVID-19?
SARS-CoV-2 is a new strain of coronavirus that was first identified in December 2019. It has caused a worldwide pandemic of respiratory illness, called COVID-19.

COVID-19 spreads easily from person to person, through droplets released into the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. COVID-19 symptoms can range from very mild to severe. It’s possible to have just a few symptoms, or no symptoms at all.

When should I get tested?
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in close contact with someone who tested positive, it’s important to get tested. You may also need a test after high-risk activities such as travel or attending a large gathering, or if a healthcare provider, local, or state health department refers you to get tested.

The incubation period (the time between exposure to the virus and symptom onset) is generally 5-6 days, but can take up to 14 days. For this reason, you should self-quarantine and wait at least five days before getting tested. The virus may not be detectable in your system in early stages. If you have COVID-19 but get tested too soon, your result could come back negative, even though you have been infected.

You should self-quarantine at home pending test results, and follow the advice of your healthcare provider. Minor cases of COVID-19 can be treated at home. Get rest, stay hydrated, and take over-the-counter medicines, such as acetaminophen, to help you feel better. Be sure to monitor your symptoms carefully. If your symptoms get worse, call your healthcare provider immediately. Patients with severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) require hospitalization and supportive care.

When should I seek emergency care?
Call 911 or go straight to your local ER for the following severe COVID-19 symptoms:
Jovive Urgent Care
Trouble breathing
Jovive Urgent Care
Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
Jovive Urgent Care
New confusion
Jovive Urgent Care
Inability to wake or stay awake
Jovive Urgent Care
Pale, gray, or blue-colored skin, lips, or nail beds, depending on skin tone
This is not a complete list. Call your medical provider for any symptoms that are severe or concerning to you.

Notify the 911 operator or call ahead to the ER to let them know that you are seeking care for someone who has or may have COVID-19.

What can I do to prevent COVID-19?
The FDA has given emergency use authorization for three COVID-19 vaccines, the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.

A vaccine offers protection from the illness by creating an antibody response in your body. If you do still get COVID-19, vaccination will help reduce the severity of your illness and lower the risk of serious complications.

You can also reduce your risk of infection and slow the spread of COVID-19 by taking the following steps:

Jovive Urgent Care
Keep at least 6 feet distance between yourself and people outside your household.

Avoid crowds and indoor spaces with poor ventilation.
Jovive Urgent Care
Wear a face mask in spaces where it’s difficult to avoid close contact with others.
Jovive Urgent Care
Avoid touching your face.
